RAGDOLLS

Special Cats for Special People

We are pleased to introduce to you the most unusual breed of cats named Ragdolls. Ragdolls are the "puppy-cats" of the cat world. They are known for adoring their owners, love and want their attention. They will greet you at the door when you come home with their big blue eyes and follow you from room to room. Many Ragdolls love to play fetch with their favorite toy. For the most part, Ragdolls are chunky cats, one of the few breeds that can get away with having a "flabby tummy" and it's written in their standard. At full maturity of 3-4yr.s old, altered males can weigh as much as 9-10 kg. and females weighing about 5-7 kg. Some make little chirps were others give you a good meow when wanting or should that be demanding their favorite treat.

They are extremely sociable and follow their favorite person from room to room all through the house. Some of them have a true aptitude for learning feats such as "fetching", "begging" and the likes. They are smart, understand quickly what is expected of them and can be trained as smart dogs will be.

RAGDOLL COLOURS:

COLOUR POINT

The colour of the points (ears, mask, legs and tail) to be darker, well defined. Body colour to be sound to the roots. Body colour to be lighter than point colour: chest, bib and chin areas may be somewhat lighter in colour. Soft shadings of colour are allowed on the body. Allowance to be made for uneven shading for a cat under two years of age. Eyes blue, the deeper the better.

Fault: chin darker than ruff, any white on points.

MITTED

The points (except feet) to be well defined. A broken or evenly matched white blaze of even dimension on nose and/or between eyes to be acceptable. White mittens on front legs to be evenly matched and scalloped. Back legs should be entirely white extending no higher than mid-thigh. White must go around the hock entirely. White stripe varying in width extends from the bib and runs down the underside between the forelegs to the under base of the tail. The body is a shade lighter than the point colour. Eyes blue, the deeper the better.

Faults: Any dark spotting on white mittens or underbelly. Lack of white stripe running down the underside to base of tail. Lack of white chin.

BI-COLOUR

The points (ears, mask and tail) to be well defined. Mask to have a white inverted V, stomach and all four legs, feet and ruff to be white. The colour on the body to be a shade lighter than the points and may have various markings of white and colour patches. Nose and pad leather pink. Eyes blue, the deeper the better. Faults: White on ears and tail, colour patches on stomach or area designated white. Dark markings on white area of mask. Whiskers other than white.

Their eyes are oval and blue and their coat is usually medium long, very silky and almost rabitty in texture. Unlike other long haired felines, their coats are non matting and will mostly shed in the spring. They absolutely love to be petted, especially to be kissed on the top of the head.
